From Trash to Triumph: How Minus Degre Turned 2,000 Kilos of Plastic Waste into India’s Most Meaningful Trophies

Redefining What It Means to Recognize Greatness

Trophies are meant to celebrate excellence—but what if they could also honor the planet?

For decades, trophies have been made from virgin plastic, metals, and acrylic—materials that harm the environment long after the applause has faded. At Minus Degre, we saw the contradiction. How could we celebrate leaders of change with trophies made from materials that cause damage?

So, we reimagined the symbol of recognition.

We don’t just design eco-friendly trophies—we transform waste into pride, plastic into purpose, and recognition into responsibility.

🌍 A Trophy That Reflects Your Values

Every award is a message. Whether it’s for a climate champion, a social innovator, or a rising student leader—the recognition should align with the values it celebrates.

At Minus Degre, we collect over 2,000 kg of discarded plastic—from packaging film, chairs, wrappers, and post-industrial waste—and craft customized recycled plastic trophies and medals that leave a lasting impression, not a lasting footprint.

Each piece tells a story. A story of waste that could have polluted our planet—but instead, found new life as a meaningful award.

📍 The Bihar Breakthrough: 85 Trophies, One Bold Statement

When the Government of Bihar hosted its largest-ever business summit—Invest in Bihar—they approached us with a challenge: create trophies that represent progress, innovation, and sustainability.

We accepted with pride.

From 80 kg of plastic waste, we handcrafted 85 unique trophies, each a testament to Bihar’s vision for a cleaner, greener future. As they stood on stage before India’s top industrialists and policy leaders, they didn’t just mark achievements—they made a statement.

🤝 Closing the Loop: Nilkamal × Workshop Q × Minus Degre

What happens when a recycled trophy is awarded to the very people who help fight plastic pollution every day? A full-circle moment.

In a powerful partnership with Workshop Q, we crafted 300 eco-friendly trophies from over 500 kg of post-consumer plastic for Nilkamal, India’s plastic legacy brand.

We also created awards for PRS, honoring India’s top recycling companies with trophies made from the very material they help eliminate.

It was more than recognition—it was poetic justice.

🌐 Global Impact, Local Roots: Union Network International

When global labor leaders, sanitation workers, and activists gathered under the Union Network Global Platform, Minus Degre was trusted to deliver trophies that honored their legacy.

We sourced discarded plastic from cities and streams across India and shaped it into awards that told a deeper story—not just of appreciation, but of environmental justice.

These weren’t trophies. They were legacy in hand.

🚴‍♀️ 3,000 Recycled Medals , Zero Guilt. Bengaluru’s Cyclon Cyclothon

In Bengaluru, thousands of cyclists pedaled for change at the Cyclon Cyclothon hosted by Embassy Group and Hilton. But this time, the finish line offered more than applause.

We created 3,000 eco-friendly medals made from recycled plastic, sending a message that aligned perfectly with the event’s theme of wellness and sustainability.

No mining. No toxins. No waste.
Just recognition with a conscience.

💡 Why Sustainable Awards Matter Now

Traditional trophies are built from materials that damage the environment and contradict the very values we often celebrate:

❌ Virgin acrylic and metal
❌ Not recyclable
❌ Designed for shelf-life, not planet-life

At Minus Degre, we flipped the script:

✅ Made from 100% recycled plastic
✅ Fully recyclable and circular
✅ Custom-designed to tell a story of transformation
✅ Emotionally resonant and environmentally responsible

Because when you hold a Minus Degre trophy, you’re not just holding recognition—you’re holding redemption.

🔄 This Isn’t a Product. It’s a Movement.

We’re not here to make another award.
We’re here to change how the world sees waste.

To make it:
Visible.
Valuable.
Victorious.

Every award is a chance to say, “We choose better.”
And every client that works with us becomes a part of this circular revolution.
